Callnet offers SIM-only mobile plans, designed for use with your existing phone. To use these services, you’ll need an unlocked phone capable of accessing the 5G network. You can choose to either request a new phone number or transfer an active number from another provider. Callnet's SIM-only mobile plans include unlimited calls, SMS and standard MMS to mobile and landline numbers within Australia, voicemail and calls to 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers.

Of course! You can upgrade your plan at anytime by calling our customer support team. The new plan will take affect immediately, and the associated charges will be reflected in the next billing statement.
Absolutely! You can either move your existing phone number to Callnet, or get a new one. The process to move your existing phone number across is fairly simple, and usually completed within 1 hour of us activating your SIM.
Important: if you are switching from another provider and still under contract, we recommend checking with them for any fees associated with early termination.
You can choose between a Physical SIM or an eSIM.
A Physical SIM is compatible with all devices and comes in adjustable sizes (Standard, Micro or Nano) to fit your phone.
An eSIM is a digital SIM embedded in your device. To use an eSIM, your phone must be eSIM compatible. Since there’s no need to wait for a physical SIM to arrive, you can activate your Callnet mobile plan in minutes!
Physical SIMs are free, eSIMs have a $5 activation fee.

Once you’ve used your data allowance included in your plan, a 2GB bolt-on will be automatically activated for $10.00 inc GST. If the additional 2GB is exhausted, another 2GB bolt-on will be automatically added, up to 5 times per billing cycle.
Your data allowance will reset on 28th of each month.

Excluded Usage:
- Calls and SMS to countries outside of included list
- Video MMS to national and international numbers
- Video calls to national and international numbers
- Calls to satellite phones
- SMS to 13/1300, 18/1800 or international numbers
- MMS to international numbers
You'll need to bring your own 4G or 5G compatible phone to use with your Callnet mobile plan. A 5G-enabled phone is required in a 5G coverage area to access the 5G network. If you are not within a 5G coverage area, your service will automatically switch over to 4G and speeds will be less than that of 5G. Your phone will need to be unlocked to be able to use Callnet's services.
If you choose a physical SIM, you can either choose to have the SIM card posted to you, or you can collect from our office in South Burnie Tasmania. SIM cards are posted to you at no charge.
If you choose an eSIM, a QR code will be emailed to you.
To activate your new SIM card, please contact our customer support team.
In the event that your lose your phone, please call our customer support team as soon as possible so that we can block your service. Our team will suspend your service, arrange for a new SIM card if required, and get you back up and running as soon as possible.

Of course! Any unused data can be banked, up to a maximum of 500GB. If you choose to downgrade your plan, switch to a plan that doesn’t offer data banking, or move to another provider, all banked data will be forfeited.
Absolutely! Even though this is a data only plan and the phone number isn’t required for usage, you can still transfer your existing number from your current provider, or choose to receive a new one from us.
Unfortunately, international roaming isn’t available on Callnet’s SIM-only Mobile Data plans.

Roaming FAQS
When arriving in an eligible destination, you will receive a Welcome SMS with information about available roaming packs and instructions to activate them.
To activate a travel pack, send the corresponding pack code (included in the Welcome SMS) to 179. Be sure to send it to 179, do not reply to "MyAcct." Once you've successfully activated a pack, you'll receive a confirmation SMS.
Travel packs expire at 11:59:59 PM Sydney local time (AEST or AEDT) on their expiry date, regardless of the country you are roaming in.
Absolutely! When multiple packs are active at once, the allowances from the pack with the earliest expiry date will be used first. Note that if you active the same travel pack twice, all allowances will reset to the new pack's limits.
You can check your travel pack balance and expiry at any time, by SMSing BAL to 179. Please note that any information shown may be up to 48 hours old.
Yes! You will receive a Welcome SMS once every 7 days whilst you remain in an eligible destination.
If you try to roam in a non-eligible destination, you’ll receive an SMS advising you of this. You'll continue to receive this SMS once every 7 days that you remain in a non-eligible destination.
You will receive the following consumption SMS notifications:
- 10MB of Data Remaining
- 5 Minutes of Calls Remaining
- 5 SMS Remaining
